About Our Logo

(Created by Dr. Mark Cody)

The INCAMEI logo incorporates seven components:

Seven represents completion. There are seven colors in the spectrum. There are seven musical notes (the diatonic scale) before the completion of the octave, which is the interval between one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency.

1. The Golden Rectangle and Chambered Nautilus Spiral

The Golden Rectangle is an example of “The Golden Ratio”, which is found throughout nature, and has been used in Art, Architecture, and Music for thousands of years. It is considered to be the apex of beauty and symmetry. The Ancient Egyptians were apparently aware of both The Golden Ratio (Phi) and Pi (3.14…) in their construction of the Great Pyramids. The Greek sculptor and mathematician Phidias (500 BC – 432 BC) was aware of this ratio and used it in his design of statues for The Parthenon, which is also designed using the Ratio. Phidias’ statue “Zeus at Olympus” was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Plato alludes to the The Golden Ratio in his Dialogues. Euclid (c. 325–c. 265 BC) was the first to record a clear definition of The Ratio. He referred to it as "The Extreme and Mean Ratio". The Spiral within the Golden Rectangle is the profile of the Chambered Nautilus seashell, which matches the “Golden Spiral” ratio.

2. The “–A–”, “–A–B–” Correlation

The “–A–”, “–A–B–” shows that in “The Golden Ratio”, The longer side of “The Golden

Rectangle” is to the shorter side as the sum of the two sides is to the longer side.

3. Φ (Phi)

The Greek Letter “PHI” (pronounced “fi”) is the mathematical symbol for the Golden Ratio. A photo of The Milky Way Galaxy is superimposed over the Greek letter. This represents the vast “undiscovered country” which awaits our discovery. The spiral arms of our galaxy are in accord with The Golden Ratio.

4. 1.61803398874989484820...

This is the Decimal representation of The Golden Ratio. This “Irrational Number” never ends nor becomes periodic. It does not repeat a pattern, or repeat its values at regular intervals.

5. 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 24, 34…

This is the “Fibonacci Sequence” of numbers. The Italian mathematician Leonardo of Pisa (also known as “Fibonacci”) discovered this sequence of numbers. Every number after the first two in this sequence is the sum of the two preceding numbers. The sequence correlates to the decimal expression of The Golden Ratio. Fibonacci Numbers are found throughout Creation. We see them in the arrangement of leaves around plant stems, the arrangement of seeds on a sunflower, and a myriad of other places throughout the macrocosm and the microcosm. In music we see the sequence. There are eight notes to a scale. The third and fifth notes are the basis of chords. The length, or octave, of any note is 13 notes.

6. The Blue, Indigo, and Violet Butterfly

The Butterfly is a symbol of transformation. Its color is that of the last three colors in the spectrum of visible light. This represents our journey towards the invisible and transcendent world.

7. The Spectrum

We find that the contrast of colors in the spectrum of light is most beautiful and appealing when they are selected in accord with The Golden Ratio. The spectrum of color overlays the logo. It represents the beautiful symmetry, diversity, and interconnectedness of humanity and the amazing universe that we inhabit.

ABOUT US

We strive to instill the qualities essential for maintaining liberty, ecological balance, and personal responsibility. We strive for a society that is built on a foundation of strong individuals, and supported by cohesive family units. Progress, peace, and prosperity are not the fruits of governments, civilizations, or organizations. Only the individual who dares take the weight of the world upon his or her shoulders can lift it up to new heights.

"The science of government it is my duty to study, more than all other sciences: the art of legislation and administration and negotiation, ought to take place, indeed to exclude in a manner all other arts. I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain."
